Hello, and welcome!
I’m Audrey
If you’re interested in reading my story, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and pull up a chair. Not a huge cup – my story isn’t that long.
I started baking before I could speak (okay, not literally – my mom claims I started talking (back) the day I was born). Baking is one of my favorite ways to escape the world. Soon after gaining my independence (i.e., adulthood), I wanted to open a bakery so I could share my delicious creations with everyone. It took a little longer than planned, but here I am (for now)!Â
Baking isn’t my only passion. I also love to read (a lot), write (fantasy fiction), and make people laugh (and laugh at people laughing). The inspiration behind the name “Enchanted Cookie” came from my writing. I often think of baking when I’m writing, think of writing when I’m baking, and write of baking when I’m thinking (oh, wait… I took that too far).
Wherever feasible, I use only single ingredients, and the recipe testing phase has taught me just how time-intensive baking almost completely from scratch is. It’s definitely a labor of love! I’m planning to run the bakery for a year before returning more of my attention to writing. Perhaps when I retire, I’ll really heat up the oven again! But for now, I’m just getting started, and I can’t wait for you to try some of my creations!Â
